What's next after passing the nursing board exam?

Around more or less 50,000 nurses are registered in a year. But what happens next after the new nurses take their oath?

Family, friends and relatives of the newly registered nurses jumped with joy as they read and knew the good news of the board exam results. After the 4 years of heavily laded studies, projects, requirements, related learning experiences and expensive tuition fees, fresh passers, parents and guardians cant be more proud more than anyone else.

Unfortunately this bliss is only for the meantime as reality sets back in as Thousands of nurses stay unemployed nowadays. There is an oversupply of nurses while hospitals and clinical schools are no longer demanding. Although there is a higher job opportunities abroad, nurses have difficulty applying and qualifying for the said green field as they need to gain 2 or 3 years hospital experience. So where do all nurses land? BPO industry or perhaps getting married and settling down.. So ironic!

Operating Room Attire

Purpose: To provide effective barriers that prevent the dissemination of microorganisms to the
patient and to protect personnel from infected patients.

1. Scrub dress - worn only in the operating suite.
2. head Cover - is used to cover hair completely.
3. Shoes - should be clean and conductive, washable and soft - soled covered by shoe
covers.
4. Mask - is put on by all personnel before coming into the operating room and must
be worn over the nose and mouth.
5. Sterile gown - are worn over scrub attire.
6. Sterile gloves - are worn to complete the attire for scrubbed team members.

Principles of Sterile Technique

1. Only Sterile Items Are Used Within the Sterile Field.
2. Gowns Are Considered Sterile Only from the Wiast to Shoulder Level in Front and the Sleeves.
3. Tables Are Sterile Only at Table Level.
4. Persons Who Are Sterile Touch Only Sterile Items or Areas; Persons Who Are Not Sterile Touch Only Unsterile Items or Areas.
5. Edges of Anything That Encloses Sterile Contents Are Considered Unsterile.
6. Sterile Field Is Created as Close as Possible to Time of Use.
7. Sterile Areas Are Continuously Kept in View.
8. Sterile Persons keep Well within the Sterile Area.
9. Sterile Persons Keep Contact with Sterile Areas to a Minimum.
10. Destruction of Integrity of Microbial Barriers Results in Contamination.
